Ukiiyo-e woodcut print
What is Ukiyo-e ?
Ukiyo-e is a genre of Japanese art that flourished from the 17th through 19th centuries (Edo-piriod). Its artists produced woodcut prints and painitings of such subjects as female beauties; Kabuki actors; scenes from history and folk tales; travel scenes and landscapes; Flora and Fauna and so on. The term ukiyo-e translates as 'picture[s] of the floating world'.

What makes it different from other Ukiyo-e prints?
Our Ukiyo-e prints are created using the techniques that have been handed down since the Edo period. The vivid colors and warm textures of the prints are produced by rubbing water-based pigments into washi paper in the same process that was used in the Edo Period.
